SHORT BIO & ALBUM INFO

Altspeak, hailing from Seattle, could be called an indie rock band - but that definition is probably too broad to define the band’s combination of britpop, shoegaze and classic songwriting.

Formed by Iggy Faus and joined by indie veterans Matt Brown (Trespassers William),  Coulter Leslie (Coulter), William Hallauer and Erik Blood (The Turn-Ons), the band’s jangle-y rock is upbeat, textured, and unpretentious.

Produced by Erik Blood, “It’s Up To You”  is a collection of thirteen distinct, melodic, and carefully crafted guitar driven songs distinguished by their orchestral flourishes, swooping guitar lines and shades of shoegaze.

Called “a masterpiece of britpop gems” by Seattle High Sounds Magazine, Altspeak released “It’s Up To You” on the Internet on July 2nd, 2008 as a free legal download. Since then, “It’s Up To You” has been downloaded over 1,000 times per week.
